Finding Home

Finding Home cover

In December 2009, a lost bedraggled cat was picked up on a remote snowy road in Buffalo, Minnesota.  Shortly before he was to be euthanized at an animal shelter, he was adopted and started a new chapter in his life.

Finding Home is based on the true story of this nameless wandering cat that found his way into the arms of a loving family and through the process discovered his forever home and the name he carries today.

Finding Home has received the Seal of Approval from Feline Rescue, Inc., a no-kill shelter and cat rescue organization based in St. Paul, Minnesota.

This book by sisters-in-law Kristy Abbott and Danusia Keusder appeals to animal lovers young and old and shares the uplifting theme of second chances for lucky creatures. (Available from North Star Press of St. Cloud, Inc. April 2014)

This was a wonderful, heartwarming book for kids and adults alike…
Being based on actual events was even better. This book helps bring to mind the importance of animal rescue! The illustrations were also beautifully done! I am looking forward to reading more about the amazing Simon!”
Great Book…
I love the illustrations in this book. They are beautiful.  It is alsoa sweet and simple story about a young boy and his love for a stray cat. Kinda similar to The Ugly Duckling, only brought up to the 21st century.”
A Wonderful little book
With so many animals in shelters and homeless, it is so nice to know that one cat got very, very lucky. The illiustrations by Danusia Keusder are perfect for describing this kitty on his journey. You’ll love the one in the bath!!!”

I bought your book Finding Home at the Jubilee Grocery Store in Mound, Mn because the picture on the cover looked so much like Simon in your book. Upon reading the story the similarities between these two real life stories were amazing…..we have shared your book with others who also are amazed at the two stories of these 2 cats, both starting out wandering the shores of a big lake looking for a home….and yes the cats here around Lost Lake and Cooks Bay do talk as well. :) Thanks for a great book…John Snowberg & Susanna Clarke

ps; we might call our wandering stranger Simon II….if Simon says it is ok!!!

I bought your book, Finding Home, at the Jubilee Grocery Store in Mound, MN because the picture of Simon on the front cover looked so much like a wandering stranger who daily visits at our back door. The stories between Simon in your book and the cat who visits at our back door are amazingly similar….thanks for a great true story!!! John Snowberg
